Engineering Career Services is a specialized extension of the University of Kentucky's James W. Stuckert Career Center. The office was created specifically to meet the unique needs of UK engineering students, alumni and prospective employers. Our mission is to assist students and alumni with developing job search skills and building career networks, and securing satisfying employment in their field of study. To that end, Engineering Career Services offers the following services:
Employers -- The next chance to connect with engineering and computer science students at a career fair is the University of Kentucky Career Fair. The Career Fair will be held on Wednesday, October 7 & Thursday, October 8, 2009. The event will be held in the UK Student Center Ballrooms from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The first day is dedicated to Engineering, High Tech, and Sciences and hosted by the University of Kentucky chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the James W. Stuckert Career Center. The Career Fair provides an opportunity for engineering and computer science students of all classifications to meet with prospective employers to discuss employment trends and opportunities within specific industries, and to inquire about future co-op, internship, part-time, summer and full time employment. Participation by both employers and students has grown steadily each year since its inception in 1992. This past year over 100 engineering employers and over 1,000 students participated in the event.
In conjunction with the Engineering and High Tech Career Fair, UK SWE sponsors Engineering Evening with Industry the night before the Career Fair. This event is open only to graduating seniors within the college. Seniors will have an opportunity to meet industry representatives on a one-on-one basis to discuss employment opportunities in their field and within the representative's organization.
Registration for both events is currently live. Career Fair is $500 for standard registration or $650 for premier registration. Do you have hiring needs that are broader than engineering? – Register for both days at $1000 for standard registration or $1200 for premier registration. Evening with Industry is $50.
