Spring Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair, February 21, 2017, noon to 4 pm

The Spring Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair will have a new venue this year: On February 21, 2017, engineering, science and computer science students are invited to meet with employers in their field for the Spring Career Fair. It will take place at the Gatton College of Business and Economics from noon to 4 pm. VIP Students are admitted into the fair as early as 11:30 am.

Employers: Click here to register for the fair. The Business Fair will take place the day after, and there is a discount to for companies who register for both fairs.  The venue is more limited in space than previous venues, so we can only register about 80 employers, and registration will be on a fist come, first served basis.

Spring Engineering Co-op and Internship Fair, March 23 from 10 am to 1 pm, Mining and Minerals Resources Bldg.

Companies seeking only interns or co-op students for the following summer or fall can register for the Co-op and Internship Fair to be held on March 23, 2017 from 10 am to 1 pm in the Mining and Minerals Resources Building. Employer Registration is now live.

Career Fair Prep and Networking Events

Engineering CAREER CONNECTIONS, February 9, 2017 at the Stuckert Career Center:

This event takes place once a semester before the career fair.  Have an employer critique your resume or give you a quick mock interview. Students can register for a time slot with an employer through Wildcat Carer Link from Tue., Jan 31 – Tue., Feb. 7. No need to dress up, just bring your resume with you.

Engineering Resume Review/Interview Drop Ins

Quick 10-15 min meetings for help with your resume, letter writing, interviewing or searching for an job or internship opportunity. Every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 pm in Room 289 in the Ralph G. Anderson Bldg. We are also available for appointments. Please e-mail John Beck with a 2-3 days/times that work for you and he will schedule an appointment with you.

Career Fair Prep Workshop

In preparation for the Career Fair, Engineering Career Development and the Graham Office Of Career Management in the Gatton College of Business and Economics are offering a number of career fair prep workshops.

Completion of a Career Fair Prep Workshop, as well as a one on one resume review with a career advisor or at the Career Connections event, as well as a few other career related tasks will grant you VIP status, which allows entry into the career fair 30 minutes before non-VIP students.

About the UK VIP Program

The VIP program is an interactive program designed to develop career-ready students at the University of Kentucky and offer-exclusive exposure to employers.

Participants will have the opportunity to:
– Network with employers starting 30 minutes before the Career Fair officially opens.
– Receive a special VIP nametag.
– Prepare for your professional career.

You can pick up a participant card for VIP at the Engineering Career Development offices, outside RGAN 287 (inside the glass doors) or by attending on of the VIP workshops. The VIP program is an interactive program designed to develop career-ready students at the University of Kentucky and off-exclusive exposure to employers. The completed card must be turned in by Friday, Feb. 17 before 12:00noon to RGAN 289.

VIP Requirement Checklist: (MUST complete all 4 steps below)
  1. Set up or Update your Wildcat CareerLink account.
    ~ You may need to set up a Wildcat CareerLink account and/or Update your account profile. Visit and scroll down to the bottom of the page to get started.
    ~ Upload an updated resume to your profile
  2. Attend a 45 minute “Career Fair Prep Workshop” and collect presenter signature (See times above)
  3. Complete Mock Interview / Resume Critique (Choose one of the two options below)
    1. Participate in EGR Career Connections on Thur., 2/9 from 10:00am-2:00pm in the Stuckert Career Center. Complete a mock interview or have an employer critique your resume
    2. Have an on campus career professional critique your resume and collect signature

Most Wednesdays during the semester from 10:00 am-2:00 pm, Ralph G. Anderson Atrium – meet employers who are on campus to discuss your resume, their recruiting needs or the engineering professions with you.  Every Wednesday, we will have 1-3 employers on hand to answer questions about careers in their company for you.
