Why Participate in SEAM Honors?

Your involvement in SEAM Honors will provide you with access to top talent here at UK.  There are opportunities for meaningful relationship throughout all levels of SEAM Honors. Each year, we recruit 20 incoming freshmen business students and 20 incoming freshmen engineering students to become the next cohort of SEAM Honors students. From beginning to end, students learn how to synergize together through team projects.

SEAM Honors is a highly selective and competitive program. Selection criteria include academic achievement as reflected in high school GPA and ACT scores as well as participation in extracurricular activities demonstrates excellent time management skills. SEAM Honors scholars have access to courses specifically designed to produce future technology leaders, such as The Business Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Venture Creation, and Lean Systems, and Supply Chain Management.  SEAM Curriculum.

Corporations may support SEAM through class presentations, campus talks or corporate site visits, which assist SEAM students in understanding leadership principles, the responsibilities of corporate citizenship, and international business demands.  Corporate champions may also elect to support SEAM Honors through scholarships, capstone project sponsorship or hiring SEAM Honors students for internships or co-op rotations. GE Aviation Has provided co-op positions as well as site tours and visits

The Keeneland Foundation has provided tours

Lexmark Inc. provides an annual Lexmark Leadership Conference each January for SEAM sophomores.

Osram Sylvania has provided plant visits

P&G hosts an annual August visit to supply chain research facilities in Cincinnati for SEAM sophomores

Toyota hosts a January plant tour and information session for SEAM freshmen.

The Center for Applied Energy Research hosts site visits

Gray Construction, Semicon Associates, Ceradyne, Inc., and Link-Belt have all hosted site visits.
