The Solar Car will be part of Karl Shannon's Eighth Annual Cruisin' for St. Jude Car Show on Saturday. September 20th.
The Solar Car is scheduled to make an appearance at the State of the University address, Thursday, September 18th in the Patterson Office Tower Plaza. The event begins at 11:30 a.m.
Faculty Openings - Fall 2009
The Solar Car Team reached its goals of qualifying for and completing the North American Solar Challenge, a 2,400-mile race from Plano, Texas to Calgary, Alberta. The UK team finished 11th.

The latest model of the UK Solar Car, Gato del Sol III, was unveiled Wednesday, May 21st.
A UK team and Gato del Sol III will compete in the 2008 North American Solar Challenge (NASC2008), a competition to design, build, and drive solar-powered cars in a cross-country time/distance rally event.

Center for Visualization: IR4TD: From PTC to Present, a documentary on the new Institute for Research for Technology Developement, will air on the Research Channel (Insight Channel 16 in Lexington) on February 27th at 4:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
UK is one of only 20 university-led teams from around the world selected to compete in the United States Department of Energy (DOE) 2009 Solar Decathlon. Senior mechanical engineering undergraduate students are members of this team.

Departmental newsletter -- Fall 2007
Flying on Air: The Science of Inflatable Wings, a documentary on the BIG BLUE project, aired on KET1 Sunday, August 19th, at 10:30 p.m. and will air again on Sunday, August 26th at 4:30 a.m.
The Discovery Channel visited UK on June 20th to film material for their upcoming fall season, which will feature the BIG BLUE project.
