Lester Elected ASME Fellow

Lester, professor of mechanical engineering and former dean of the University of Kentucky College of Engineering, has been awarded the distinction of Fellow in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). According to ASME’s website, “A Fellow, one who has attained a membership grade of distinction, at the time of advancement shall be a corporate member of the Society, shall have been responsible for significant engineering achievements, and shall have not less than 10 years of active practice and 10 years of corporate membership in ASME.”

Dr. Lester became dean of the UK College of Engineering in 1990 and served 22 years before stepping down in 2012.
