Scholarships

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors

UK SWE offers one scholarship each to a deserving Sophomore, Junior, and Senior member. The National SWE Office also have several scholarships available nationwide.

The $5,000 Lillian Moller Gilbreth Scholarship is awarded annually to a woman engineering student of outstanding achievement and potential and who is entering her junior or senior year.

The $2,000 Ivy Parker Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a woman engineering student entering her junior or senior year with demonstrated financial need.

Two $2,000 MASWE Scholarships  are awarded annually to two women engineering students on the basis of scholarship and financial need.

The $2,000 Judith Resnik Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to an entering senior woman studying engineering in a field with a space-related major.

Three $2,000 Dorothy Lemke Howarth Scholarships are awarded annually to entering sophomores who are US citizens.

A wide variety of Corporate-Sponsored Scholarships, including some renewable scholarships, are awarded annually to women majoring in computer science or specific fields of engineering and who are in specific years of their program. These awards typically total over $60,000.

Senior Women Entering Graduate School

The National SWE Office offers the following scholarships for graduating Seniors entering Graduate school:

One $1,000 General Motors Foundation Scholarship is awarded annually to a woman entering a master-level program in mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial, materials, automotive, or manufacturing engineering and with a career interest in the automotive industry.

Up to ten $1,000 Microsoft Corporation Scholarships are awarded annually to women entering a graduate program and majoring in computer science or computer engineering.

All Scholarship applications must be submitted by February 1st.
