Cellular Bioengineering is the use of engineering principles to study physical properties of cells. The majority of our research focuses on cellular interactions with synthetic surfaces. Specific research projects include the following; developing cell based biosensors for detection of physiological toxins and cancer, using antigenic disguise to improve biocompatibilty of surfaces, bioglass properties and how they effect attachment and viability of osteoblasts, biocompatibility of hydrogel nanocomposites.
