UK CME XRD Facility

X-ray diffraction is an important characterization tool for all ordered material, hence the need for a shared user facility to serve the UK and neighboring community.  Nominal user fees are charged to assure proper maintenance.  For more information contact the director below.

All users must undergo proper X-ray safety safety training as given by UK Occupational Health and Safety.

Equipment available:

On a single shared Cu target x-ray source:

Rigaku powder diffraction with NaCl crystal energy filter.  Extensive powder diffraction data base for phase identification.

3-axis goniometer with texture analysis software (automatic pole figure data collection).  Suitable for single crystal characterization.
